The Park District oversees 44 parks (more than 600 acres) and special use facilities, such as the Lake Michigan beaches, an 18 hole golf course, recreation centers, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, bicycle trails, playgrounds, garden, and a nature center.
The city owns 32.40 acres of parks.
The Park District Board is comprised of five (5) elected officials, three (3) officers and one (1) City Council Liaison.
